Moving Around

Exercise 1: We know you want to see all that's in here along with the geo map for everything so here's what you do. Simply click on the My Regional Directory heading beside the large magnifying glass to the right of this page.

Exercise 2: Click on one of those tiny plus signs [+] in the Biz Listings menu on your right - not on the name but on the [+]. Now you can see how Categories and Subcategories can be accessed. You will also see the number of entries in a category. Now click on one of the categories that shows it has entries. They will appear as business cards. You will also see a Google map showing their locations. Click on the heading or the icon in the card to view the full page.

Note: Entries only appear on the Google map if the member has chosen to include the latitude and longitude coordinates when adding their entry.

Exercise 3: Go down to Search Biz Listings. Pull down and select a Category then, when a second pull-down tag appears, select a Subcategory. Without typing anything in the search box, click on Search. You will get all the entries in the chosen subcategy.

What is special about listing here?

Searching is everything on the web. Your listing is found instantly with our excellent search engine. Searching  picks up any words that appear in your entry including those the viewer cannot see which you (the member), has entered into the meta words box while placing your entry.

We know how wonderful the modern search engines are - Google, Yahoo etc. - but your website is just one of millions and if a viewer does not enter the correct search request for your site you probably wont be on those all important first 2 pages.

Being in the Castlemaine Business Directory provides added search engine possibilities PLUS you are included in a group with a shared common link - be it a Category or Subcategory, a town or a keyword and that gives you a special added advantage.

How do I add my listing?

Start by clicking on Register here or in the side menu. Enter your name and details. Then log-in with the username and password you provided. Click on the Add Entry link under Biz Listings and get started.

Can you show me a sample first please? Sure. Just click on here or click on a name in the Latest Listings menu.

IMPORTANT When you save your page for the first time, it disappears completely and you may feel a slight sense of loss. Fear not!  Our editor needs to approve your entry for security and censorship purposes. This should happen within 12 hours - 24 at the latest and depending on the time of day.

Once your page is approved it will appear at the top of the Latest Biz Listings list at the bottom left hand corner of the Home Page. When this happens, you are free to go to your website and click on the Edit button at the bottom of your page and make changes and add stuff - Gallery images, new text, dowloadable documents etc. You need to be logged in to see the edit button.

Note: We do not to take listings from outside of our designated region. Our apologies therefore, to Ballarat, Bendigo, Daylesford, Kyneton, Maryborough and St Arnaud.
